Renegade Craft Fair Wrap Up
Jul 26th
This weekend was the Renegade Craft Fair in Los Angeles’ Historic Park downtown. I love, love, love the new location! There were corn fields whose stalks were actually as tall as an elephant’s eye! It was a sweet location with. . .wait for it. . . FREE PARKING!!! and TONS of it! And people turned out in the masses! I saw groups of people who took a break from shopping to have picnics under the trees.
There was a coffee vendor whose coffee perked even the snobbyist sumatrarian. To quote Jimbob “it is like if God pee’d Coffee!” We saw lots of return customers. It is so exciting as an artist to have someone show up wearing your jewelry they bought from a store or from your last show and come back for more! People brought friends to get their own necklaces. Plus we had a bunch of new customers. We almost sold out of everything the first day! It was so exciting!
I am always inspired by the craftiness and inventive artistry of the Renegade exhibitors.
This guy was our neighbor! His Evolution of the Muff was a huge sensation. My favorite quote was, “Do you make this in a baby onesie?” AshKahn, himself, was irreverent and hilarious!
Thanks to all who weathered the weather to come out and support local artists and our amazing crafting community.
Our next retail show will be September 26th 2010 with Rebe at the Abbott Kinney Festival.
See you then!

Back from Denver and Focus Show tomorrow at CMC
Jun 14th
phsew!! I am beat after a wonderfully restful trip to Denver. Restful trip includes:
1.Hiking several mile hike up to 10,000 feet.
2.Long walks to target (nearly everyday. . .)
3. Jewelry show with Sister in Law’s fun friends from work.
4.Long ride to Breckenridge.
5.Even Longer gay/lesbian film festival where I was the focus of a very uncomfortably delightful Q&A.
6.Lots of Rain while drinking lots of Wine.
7.Naps under a tree while being pelted by falling unripened mystery fruit.
The day we got back I started shooting this film where I was up until 4am and then had to get up at 7 to make jewelry. So there goes all of the rest and now I’m exhausted again. I keep reminding myself that “this is the life” and one day I’m going to look back at this and laugh. I am laughing now. . .but I think its for an entirely different reason. Now we are getting ready to do Focus tomorrow (Tuesday to Thursday).
Aside from all of the work that still has to get done. I always love doing Focus. I always get into fun new stores and build lasting friendships with the other designers. Like Amy Kathryn, Rebe, Micha, and Blue Platypus. For the cutest and coolest fashiony things check them out.
Still no pictures. But I atleast thought about it while I was living my life. So I consider that a personal victory.
Now, enough stalling, I must go make displays so I can finally get some sleep.
Yes?

Luna Pro Cycling Team Loves Jenny and Jimbob!!
Apr 14th
I did a show with Rebe at the cool art studios in Sausalito where I met the fun Chix from Luna. You know the Luna Bars? They have a pro cycling team along with ambassadors from all over the country whose mission is to get women to start riding bikes together. I think this is Great! Jimbob and I ride bikes everywhere! Especially to get Menchi’s frozen yogurt. . . which I want right now. But back to the Luna Team. Here is a picture of Amy Dombromski. Don’t be fooled by this cutie patootie, she is a powerhouse cyclist, a three-time U23 national champion in cyclocross. Dombroski also holds U23 national titles on the road and mountain bike. And not only is she a member of the Luna Pro Team but she also loves Jenny and Jimbob’s Matchbox Necklaces. (She isn’t wearing one in this picture but she bought a Speed Demon necklace and I’m sure she will wear it on one of her races to remind her to ride her bike realllly fast.)
We also sold a bunch of necklaces to other members of the pro team and their regional members, but I didn’t have a picture to document the frenzy. I promise I will get better at posting pictures on the blog!
In other news, We are still busy filling our orders from February and we keep getting new orders in every week! It’s awesome! In a somewhat overwhelming way, but awesome just the same. We will also be selling necklaces at the Unique LA show this weekend. April 17th and 18th 2010 at the downtown California Market Center in the penthouse. I will do another blog about how much I love Unique LA and everyone who can should attend. And I will be sharing my booth with Alter Ego by Erika Walton who makes crazy bracelets out of matchbox cars. But that will be a different post.
Have a triumphant and sweet Day!!

With discounts if you buy more than one.

My lovely Jimmy and My Rebe
Apr 24th

I just found this picture of me and Jimmy. Isn’t this just sweet? It was from a photo shoot we did a few months ago for Damsel Magazine. And I think it shows our relationship perfectly. I am always dreaming up these new crazy ideas and getting us into outrageous situations and Jimmy just looks at me (a bit like he is looking in this picture) like he is the butt to one big joke. But look how introspective he is. Such quiet confidence. I wish life could stay this fresh and innocent. And while our life is still just like this picture, I already feel like I am looking at a memory.
I’m wiping the tears off of the keyboard. . . .okay.
Been crazy busy over here at the J+J sweatshop. (it’s full out summer in North Hollywood . . .already!)
We are going to be in a bunch of shows coming up with my friend Debby Weiss who owns Rebe. (www.myrebe.com) She makes these adorable dresses like this one and bags that are an insane mix-match of fabrics and colors. And I was actually a huge fan of hers before we met at the Focus Show. I cried when I met her. I thought for sure she would think I was a lunatic but, thankfully she saw through my emotional outbursts (i cried twice . . . sheesh!) and now we are friends. And J+J’s new pendant line (which is totally secret right now. . . even from you the one person who reads this blog, which is probably me in which case it isn’t secret at all . . .funny how that happens) is perfect with her line too because all of her stuff is quirky and whimsical and sweet.
Ya’ll should definately go check out her site. ( I will. . . thanks).
I am going to be selling Rebe stuff and some of my brand new pendants at the Unique Los Angeles Show www.uniquelosangeles.com next weekend
The show is May 2 & 3 2009 at the California Market Center Downtown. It is a fun shopping event with all handmade Los Angeles designers.
And then a bunch of other shows throughout the summer that we will, hopefully, get into. I am also selling my spoon paintings. So I gotta get cranking on those in the next 2 weeks.
Anyhow gotta run. I’m now switching jobs to PR and I will spend the next 3 hrs pitching articles and press releases that will go nowhere . . .or somewhere . . .yeah they do something. . . I’m not wasting my youth on the computer. . . I should at least get a rosetta stone and learn italian while I do it. . . .ohhh Italy.
Ciao.
Jenny
